PRE BALLET
Ages 3–5
A creative class for your little ballerina. Dancers will learn the basic principles of ballet, gross motor skill development, and imaginative movement exploration. This class is a great option for younger dancers who do not like the noise of Tap class.

DEBUT LEVELS
Ages 5–8
Styles Offered:
Ballet • Lyrical • Contemporary • Jazz/Musical Theater • Tap

This class is an introduction to the basic styles of Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz/Musical Theater, Tap, and Hip Hop. Each class will enhance the dancer's knowledge of steps and combinations. Through play and performance practice, dancers will find their own artistry while exploring movement, musicality, and creative expression.

PRIMARY LEVELS
Ages 9–11
Styles Offered:
Ballet 1 (Ages 7–10) • Lyrical • Contemporary • Jazz/Musical Theater • Tap

Primary leveled classes focus on developing coordination, strength, flexibility, articulation of the feet, motor skills, and cognitive skills. Each class offers exercises that are developmentally appropriate for the age of the student. The goal is to encourage dancers' inspiration to dance, move, and be creative while instilling appropriate posture and movement patterns that will build as they progress through their dance training.

BALLET
Ballet 2: Ages 8–12
Ballet 3: Ages 10–13
Ballet 4: Ages 12–16
Tween/Teen Ballet & Lyrical: Ages 12–16
Ballet 5: Instructor Approval Only
Ballet 6: Instructor Approval Only

Dancers will perform various stretches to increase flexibility and develop an understanding of how their muscles coordinate to help them dance. Class time includes ballet barre and center work, learning the positions of the arms and feet, as well as basic ballet steps. Dancers will also travel across the floor using basic turns, jumps, and leaps. Dancers will learn to count music and dance on the correct musical counts. By the end of the season, they will know the names of several ballet steps and positions and maintain proper ballet etiquette in class. As each level increases, combinations and skills will also increase.

PRE-POINTE
Ages 10–18
Pre-Pointe classes are offered to ballet students who are not yet on pointe but are working toward being on pointe. This class helps dancers further develop and strengthen the muscles necessary to go en pointe. The class stresses correct alignment and classical ballet technique. Each dancer will go en pointe at their own pace. Only dancers who the instructor determines are ready will be allowed to purchase pointe shoes.

POINTE 1 & 2
Instructor Approval Only
This class includes exercises at the barre and in the center. Students will improve strength and learn more difficult movements while developing step transitions, fluidity of movement, and presentation. All pointe dancers must take at least one ballet class and be approved to participate in this class.

LYRICAL
Intermediate: Ages 11–15
Advanced: Ages 12–18
Elite: Instructor Approval Only

Lyrical is a combination of light tumbling, ballet technique, jazz technique, and some modern styles of dance. Students will explore their ability to interpret a song's mood and feeling. Dancers will work on flexibility, light tumbling such as cartwheels and toe-ups, balance, and different styles of turns beyond traditional jazz and ballet turns. This class provides an opportunity for students to develop self-expression. At times, dancers may be allowed to improvise choreography and interpret music in their own unique way.

Dancers must also be enrolled in a ballet class to take this level.

CONTEMPORARY
Primary Contemporary: Ages 9–11
Intermediate/Advanced Contemporary: Ages 13–18

Contemporary dance expands on the technique and movements learned in lyrical class. The contemporary style aims to push dancers and their movement in new directions. Experimentation and improvisation often play a large part in creating contemporary movement. Understanding how the body moves through space, shifting weight and momentum, floor work, and overall body strength and control all play a critical role in this style of dance. This class encourages dancers to feel their movement from within and share that feeling through performance.

JAZZ
Intermediate: Ages 9–13
Advanced: Ages 12–18
Elite: Instructor Approval Only

This class introduces an advanced-intermediate level of jazz movements and terminology. Students must have a solid dance foundation, as this class moves at a very fast pace. Focus is placed on style and technique, including longer and more difficult combinations requiring greater control. Dancers will work on bigger leaps, more turns, and higher kicks. Each class consists of a warm-up, across the floor, proper jazz technique, and choreographed combinations.

Dancers must be enrolled in a ballet class while enrolled in these levels.

MUSICAL THEATER
Intermediate/Advanced: Ages 12–18
In this class, students will cover fundamentals of terminology, steps, and movements specific to Broadway. Dancers will learn basic choreography, often set to music from popular musicals. The class emphasizes synchrony and teamwork in performance, preparing students for ensemble work on stage. Students will also learn how to convey a story through facial expressions and movement.

TAP
Intermediate: Ages 11–13
Advanced/Elite: Ages 13–18

These classes move at a steady, productive pace and prioritize the acoustic rather than the aesthetic, training the ear while developing the feet as percussive instruments. Look forward to weekly rhythm scales, rudiments, progressions, combinations, syncopation, precisely timed weight shifts, musical patterning and phrasing, dynamics, tone, and shading. Emphasis is placed on efficiency of movement, relaxation of the joints, and proper weight placement. Tappers will develop greater clarity and articulation of their sounds while taking their rhythmic expression and individual artistry to the next level!

HIP HOP
Debut: Ages 4.5–7
Primary: Ages 7–11
Intermediate: Ages 10–14
Advanced: Ages 14–18

Dancers develop musicality, creativity, listening skills, and coordination. This non-stop, action-packed class includes Hip Hop, basic break dancing, and dance games that will have your dancer moving to the beat! Don't be intimidated—these classes are great for boys and girls who want to be challenged and learn various styles of Hip Hop.

Dancers may remain in a level for longer than two years when appropriate. Placement and advancement are based on the dancer’s individual progress, readiness, and the instructor’s professional recommendation.
